CAQH, a nonprofit alliance focused on healthcare business, launched a new collaboration called the Provider Data Action Alliance.
The Provider Data Action Alliance will develop strategies to improve accuracy and timeliness in healthcare provider data, including the establishment of industrywide data definitions and alignment of data collection regulations. The alliance focuses on the role high-quality provider data plays in other healthcare processes, such as medical claims and provider directories.
The Provider Data Action Alliance is composed of representatives from government, health information exchanges, health plans, health systems and provider organizations. A few notable members include ONC IT Specialist Daniel Chaput, CMS Division Director Richard Gilbert and Irving, Texas-based Christus Health Technology Advocacy Hank Fanberg.
