Star Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is breaking ties with digital mental health company Cerebral after the company said in October it plans to cut 20 percent of its staff, The Wall Street Journal reported Dec. 20.
Ms. Biles became an advocate for mental health after her mid-event withdrawal during the Tokyo Olympics. In October 2021, she was named Cerebal's "chief impact officer."
Cerebral fired CEO Kyle Robertson in May after the company received a subpoena from federal prosecutors looking into possible violations of the Controlled Substance Act.
Ms. Biles was removed from Cerebal's homepage between Nov. 10 and 15. The gymnast's agent did not provide a comment to the Journal.
