Nuance Communications, a voice and language solutions provider, released financial results — which it said were affected by a June malware attack called NotPetya — for its third quarter, which ended June 30.
Here are four things to know.
1. Nuance reported $486.22 million in revenue for the third quarter, compared to $477.85 one year prior. The company predicted its adjusted revenue would be between $494 million to $498 million.
2. The company reported net new bookings of $438.5 million, up 20.8 percent from $362.9 million one year prior.
3. Nuance reported a net loss of $27.83 million for the third quarter, or $0.10 per share, compared to a net loss of $11.82 million, or $0.04 per share, the year prior.
4. The company believes it lost roughly $15.4 million in revenue for the third quarter due to the malware disruption. Nuance estimates its revenue would have been $501.6 million for the quarter, and its earnings per share $0.04, had the malware attack not occurred.
