Winston Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health created a digital health and engagement division to oversee its virtual healthcare experience and technology strategy, the system announced May 8.
The team is tasked with creating a "digital healthcare delivery platform" that gives patients more virtual solutions and ways to connect with their care team beyond e-visits and video visits. It will define Novant's digital health strategy and the system's digital transformation, including deciding what emerging technologies Novant will use.
The division will be led by Hank Capps, MD, senior vice president and chief digital health and engagement officer, and Stephanie Landry, senior director of digital health and engagement.
"When we think about the future of healthcare, we have to consider where and how patients want to connect with their care team. Our connection with patients should not be constrained to the four walls of a facility," Angela Yochem, executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer of Novant Health, said in a press release.
