North Carolina Hospital Association taps PatientPing for care coordination

The North Carolina Hospital Association entered into a data-sharing partnership with PatientPing, the Boston-based health IT company announced Oct. 12.

Under the partnership, the North Carolina Hospital Association will join the nationwide PatientPing network, which delivers notifications to providers when a patient experiences a clinical event at a separate facility.

The goal of the partnership is to improve coordination efforts between hospitals, health systems and community providers across the care continuum in North Carolina.

"As our members work to build models for value-based, patient-centered care, we recognize the need for seamless information flow among all providers, regardless of type, technology or geography," said Steve Lawler, president of the North Carolina Hospital Association.
