HealthlinkNY, which operates the health information exchange connecting providers in 13 New York counties, announced its President and CEO Christina Galanis is resigning, effective Dec. 31.
Ms. Galanis who has served as HealthlinkNY's leader for 13 years, is leaving to take on the role of president at WoMBA, a data retrieval company.
Ms. Galanais previously served as founding executive director of Southern Tier HealthLink, which merged with the Taconic Health Information Network and Community to form HealthlinkNY in 2015. The HealthlinkNY HIE serves as the region's access point to the Statewide Health Information Network of New York
During Ms. Galanais' tenure, HealthlinkNY was awarded two New York State Department of Health Population Health Improvement Program grants.
Staci Romeo, HealthlinkNY's senior vice president, will take over as interim executive director.
