The New Jersey Department of Health has announced a grant of $1.57 million has been awarded to a group of healthcare organizations to develop and run a statewide health information network.
The New Jersey Health Information Network will link providers by connecting existing regional health information organizations.
"The creation of the New Jersey Health Information Network will further expand the use of health information technology and health information exchange to better coordinate patient care in our state," said Department of Health Commissioner Mary E. O'Dowd in the release.
The network is expected to launch in early 2014.
