The Greater Newark Community health information exchange, which will be known as Health-e-cITi, has begun sharing clinical data to community-based partner institutions, physicians, other caregivers and patients, according to an IGI Health news release.
The first facility to implement the exchange is Newark (N.J.) Beth Israel Medical Center, which provided clinicians and neighboring federally qualified health centers web-based access to integrated patient information.
The HIE also rolled out other interoperable services, including access to New Jersey Medicaid's medication histories; an interface to the state immunization system; and lab and radiology results from the NBI emergency departments.
