HHS has partnered with PayNearMe, an electronic cash transactions company, to spread awareness about and encourage customers to visit the online health exchanges.
PayNearMe handles the receipts printed for 7-Eleven convenience stores. This collaboration is geared toward reaching financially underserved and "cash-preferring consumers," according to the HHS release.
All PayNearMe receipts printed at nearly 8,000 7-Eleven stores across the country will display an announcement outlining enrollment deadlines and information about exchange options such as tax credits and newly available plans on the online exchange.
"With this partnership, we are using digital platforms to place Open Enrollment information in the hands of consumers who need it," said HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell.
