The report, "Secrets of HIE Success Revealed: Lessons from the Leaders," profiles 12 HIE enterprises from across the country and defines critical success factors, barriers to a HIE's growth, business models, strategies to create value and the future outlook for each entity.
Some of the issues among the profiled HIEs included aligning stakeholders, defining the market, finding interoperability among participants, how to charge private sector participants for using the HIE and how payor financial support can help long-term HIE sustainability.
