Movers and shakers: 16 latest leadership changes affecting health IT

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following health IT executive moves affecting hospitals, companies and federal agencies during the past month:

  1. HealthVerity, a technology company focused on healthcare and consumer data management, appointed Mike Hard chief revenue officer.
  1. Cliff Illig, co-founder and vice chairman of the board of directors at Cerner, retired from the company.
  1. Outcome Health, a health technology and advertising company, selected John Vaughan to serve as chief compliance officer, a newly created role.
  1. Livongo Health, a digital health startup aimed at supporting people with chronic conditions, appointed Bimal Shah, MD, as the company's CMO, and Courtnee Westendorf as its chief marketing office.
  1. Vic Gundotra stepped down from his post as CEO of AliveCor, a digital health company best known for its electrocardiogram-equipped watch band Kardia.
  1. Kate Black left her post as 23andMe's chief privacy officer to join international law firm Greenberg Traurig.
  1. Health IT and services provider Greenway Health named Kali Durgampudi its chief technology and innovation officer.
  1. Kelly Cronin, director of interoperability for healthcare transformation at HHS' ONC, left the agency after 15 years of service.
  1. Olah Healthcare Technology, a provider of enterprise decommissioning solutions for healthcare organizations, named Gregory Miller CEO.
  1. Phoenix-based Banner Health selected Deanna Wise to serve as CIO.
  1. Innovaccer, a healthcare data platform company, named Paul Grundy, MD, chief transformation officer.
  1. The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange elected Jay Eisenstock to serve as chair and Nancy Spector as chair-elect of its board of directors.
  1. Karen DeSalvo, MD, joined early-stage venture capital firm LRVHealth as an executive adviser.
  1. SSM Health, a nonprofit health system based in St. Louis, named Sony Jacob CIO.
  1. The House Veterans Affairs Committee selected Rep. Susie Lee, D-Nev., who took office less than a month ago, to oversee the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' $10 billion, 10-year EHR overhaul.
  1. Christine Curry, MD, PhD, an obstetrician affiliated with Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, is the latest addition to Apple's health team.
