Mount Sinai Health System deploys MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System implemented MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform, a solution for application programming interface-led connectivity.

The health system will use the platform to develop and manage Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources APIs that allow for secure data delivery across the health system's EHRs, data warehouses and enterprise resource planning systems.

Additionally, the FHIR API-led connectivity approach will allow 300 community organizations, including homeless shelters and substance abuse treatment centers, to access patient data and share welfare data with Mount Sinai.

"For most patients, the vast majority of their time is spent outside of the hospital, but providers have little to no access to this portion of their patient's history," said Kash Patel, vice president of population health and analytics, information technology at Mount Sinai Health System. "By building an application network in which all systems and stakeholders can securely communicate with one another, we can offer patients a higher quality of care and facilitate preventive measures that reduce costs to taxpayers."
