Mission Health Holds Conference on "Humanizing" Health IT

This week, Ashville, N.C.-based Mission Health held the inaugural Humanizing Healthcare Technologies conference, bringing together more than 180 attendees to discuss how patient-friendly technology can improve healthcare delivery.

Held in partnership with Rock Health and Vocera, the conference featured two days of presentations on how technology can not only improve health outcomes and reduce costs but also make care delivery more patient-centric.

"There are few things more personal to individuals and families than their own healthcare," said Mission Health President and CEO Ronald Paulus, MD, in a news release. "Today's technology tools and treatment innovations present an opportunity to empower patients and their loved ones, make care more successful and responsive to their needs, improve quality and safety and reduce healthcare costs…This dialogue is just the beginning of what we anticipate will be an increasing national focus on this critical topic."
