Nonprofit patient safety organization ECRI has released its list of top 10 medical technology patient safety hazards for 2015, and missing health data is second on the list.
Other health IT hazards on the list include patient-handling device use errors and device failures (#5) and cybersecurity (#9).
To develop the list, ECRI consulted with health professionals, clinicians, experts in the health IT field and experiences from healthcare organizations worldwide. This is the fourth year the organization has run the list.
