Microsoft will discontinue HealthVault, its patient medical records management service, by Nov. 20, according to ZDNet.
Any data still stored in HealthVault will be deleted after Nov. 20, according to an email Microsoft is sending to customers, ZDNet reports.
Microsoft released a beta version of HealthVault in 2007 before going live with the service in 2009. HealthVault was designed to store an individual's health records and information to enhance access and sharing with healthcare providers. Users can access HealthVault via mobile or web application.
The tech giant discontinued its HealthVault Insights app in January 2018. The project launched as a research initiative in early 2017 with the goal of providing patients with health insights that improved their adherence to care plans.
In March, Microsoft also announced plans to discontinue support for its Health Dashboard apps and services, including those for the wearable device Microsoft Band. All user data in the Microsoft Health Dashboard will be deleted on May 31.
