Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services, an organization that encompasses seven Michigan health information exchange organizations along with state agencies' and health plans' networks, has joined the national eHealth Exchange, according to an Information Week report.
MiHIN will now be able to share health information with CMS, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Agency and with other HIEs connected to eHealth Exchange, according to the report.
While MiHIN is not the first state-designated entity to join the national HIE, it is the first to do so after meeting new, rigorous membership criteria that will be required of new members going forward, according to the report.
