A company specializing in electronic health records for urology — meridianEMR — has announced that it filed a lawsuit against Intuitive Medical Software, which created UroChartEHR, in June, according to a news release.
meridianEMR claims Intuitive Medical Software, including UroChart, accessed meridianEMR's data and have had ongoing access to patient information in the system, according to the report. The company alleged UroChart violated New Jersey's Computer Related Offenses Act, among other laws. On June 16, the court put a temporary restraining order against UroChart.
UroChart testified that it had a clone server that included an "exact replica of the meridian server," according to the report.
