Steve Wretling is joining the Health Information Management and Systems Society as its new chief technology and innovation officer, the organization announced June 7.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Wretling:
1. At HIMSS, Mr. Wretling will guide strategies for enterprisewide digital innovations and technology.
2. He most recently served as the global chief technology officer for DaVita and CIO for DaVita's integrated kidney care division.
3. Mr. Wretling also held several roles at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, where he worked for nearly 10 years and most recently served as vice president of information services for care delivery.
"With more than two decades of technology and executive experience, Steve brings a broad range of technical and healthcare operations experience to his role as chief technology and innovation officer for HIMSS," Hal Wolf, president and CEO of HIMSS, said in a press release. "His leadership, expertise and knowledge will help our global organization drive thought leadership on technical innovation and best practices throughout the health ecosystem."
