Maxim Healthcare taps Leidos for post-acute care health IT

Medical staffing and home nursing services provider Maxim Healthcare Services has reached a five-year agreement with Leidos to create a suite of health information technology solutions capable of delivering actionable patient information to frontline caregivers in home care, post-acute and long-term care settings.

The tools will be delivered to Maxim's workforce of more than 65,000 frontline providers. The solutions will provide a holistic view of the patient and identify potential risks or care gaps to support better clinical decision making.

"We believe this will be a game changer for our patients and customers, as well as healthcare providers and payers seeking ways to better manage populations at home," said Bill Butz, CEO of Maxim Healthcare. "From a recently discharged patient navigating social barriers to a ventilator-dependent child receiving care in the home or an employer looking for ways to keep their workforce healthy, this technology will provide the depth of information needed to improve quality and value for each of the populations we serve."

While Leidos has implemented similar HIT solutions in acute care hospitals, the partnership with Maxim marks the first time this technology will be used in the post-acute and community-based settings.
