Wisconsin-based Marshfield Clinic Health System has tapped American Well for its Marshfield Clinic Virtual Care telehealth platform.
The virtual care services will first be rolled out to nurse practitioners staffing Marshfield Clinic Health System's Care My Way hotline, which currently provides patients with remote evaluations for conditions like flu, sinus infections, pink eye, urinary tract infections and whooping cough exposure. With these telemedicine capabilities, Marshfield Clinic Health System is considering adding more ailments to this list.
The telehealth platform, which will operate across the health system's three hospitals and more than 50 clinics, is slated for a February 2017 launch. After its initial roll out, Marshfield Clinic Health System has plans to expand the telehealth platform to primary and specialty care physicians.
