A Kentucky health system said it expects to save $40 million to $60 million on an Epic switch by merging with another system.
Hopkinsville, Ky.-based Jennie Stuart Health is exploring an affiliation with Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System.
"Deaconess will fully support the cost of JSH's IT enhancements including integration to the Epic electronic health record platform," Jennie Stuart Health said in a Nov. 10 statement. "The overall cost of a best-in-class EHR platform such as Epic ranges from $40 to $60 million for an organization of JSH's size."
Jennie Stuart Health has one hospital, while Deaconess is a 19-hospital system.
