Mark Segal, PhD, vice president of government affairs at GE Healthcare's IT division, will reportedly leave the company at the end of the week, according to Politico Morning eHealth newsletter.
The move was completely voluntary, he told Politico, and he plans to start a digital health policy consultancy firm called Digital Health Policy Advisers.
At GE, Dr. Segal was responsible for directing participation in various government and industry groups, defining and driving advocacy agendas, and coordinating responses to regulations and legislation. The move will remove him from his post on the EHR Association Executive Committee, Politico noted.
