The Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum has chosen Orion Health as its primary technology provider for creating a Louisiana Health Information Exchange, according to a forum news release.
LHCQF's first goal is to develop secure point-to-point messaging to improve access of health information among providers and achieve meaningful use.
The HIE will give providers access to health records and connect other sources of patient data within the state. The exchange also aims to improve patient safety, security of records, consumer engagement, measurement of benchmarks and cost savings.
