Livongo Health, a digital health startup aimed at supporting people with chronic conditions, is integrating its mobile app with Apple, Fitbit and Samsung smartwatches to deliver members' health information directly to their wrists.
By connecting their smartwatches to the Livongo app, members will receive notifications in real-time as well as be able to sync health data measured by their wearable technology with Livongo. In addition to diabetes, Livongo helps members manage chronic conditions in areas including nutrition, stress management and exercise.
Livongo is also launching smartwatch notification for interactive challenges, which are designed to provide members with specific goals, tools for tracking progress and educational information on their chronic conditions. The challenges last five days.
"Our smartwatch integration allows us to capture information from our members, add it to our [artificial intelligence] engine, and return actionable, personalized and timely information back to them," Livongo President Jennifer Schneider, MD, said in a news release. "By offering another way to access personalized health insights, we are able to more easily influence positive behavior change, which we know can lead to better health."
