Jerald S. Howe Jr. will join Leidos, a Reston, Va.-based science and technology company, as its executive vice president and general counsel.
Here are three things to know about the executive move.
- Mr. Howe has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the aerospace, defense and intelligence industries.
- Mr. Howe last served as partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson, advising and representing clients in government contracts, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, investigations, bid protests and private equity transactions.
- Vincent A. Maffeo, the company's current executive vice president and general counsel, will retire July 15. Mr. Maffeo plans to continue to support Leidos as a consultant.
"Jerry is an accomplished legal mind and a proven leader who brings substantial expertise in the aerospace, defense and intelligence sectors," said Leidos Chairman and CEO Roger Krone. "His broad skillset and keen understanding of the federal contracting arena will be an ideal addition to our talented leadership team."
