National Coordinator Karen DeSalvo, MD, has stepped down from her position at the ONC to join HHS' Ebola response team, effective immediately, according to the American Journal of Managed Care.
At HHS, Dr. DeSalvo will serve as assistant secretary for health and will work directly with HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell.
Dr. DeSalvo served in the national coordinator role for the past 10 months. Lisa Lewis, COO of ONC, will serve as acting coordinator.
