Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente has released its 2014 Annual Report, a breakdown of key measures, accomplishments and benchmarks for the health system. Among them, Kaiser Permanente outlined key strides in innovation throughout the system.
Here's a snapshot of innovation at Kaiser Permanente by the numbers.
- There are 4.89 million members using My Health Manager, the networks' online tool for patients.
- Kaiser Permanente mobile apps were downloaded 1.3 million times.
- Patients submitted 4.1 million online requests for appointments.
- 20 million secure emails were sent.
- Patients refilled 17.5 million prescriptions online.
- Patients viewed 37.4 million lab test results online.
- Kaiser Permanente has more than 4,000 ongoing health research studies.
"With our 21st century approach to health, we are using the latest research and technology to make the high-quality care we provide more connected, more convenient and more accessible — all with the goal of delivering value to our members, customers, the government and the communities we serve," reads the executive letter of the report.
