Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins and Springfield, Mo.-based Mercy Research and Development have joined Techstars and Sprint's mobile health accelerator program as mentors.
Johns Hopkins and Mercy R&D join Kansas City-based University of Kansas Medical Center and Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services as mentors for the second annual Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator, powered by Techstars.
This year's program begins March 9. Ten companies who have applied and been selected will relocate to Kansas City for three months to build and strengthen their businesses.
"We are thrilled to add Mercy R&D and Johns Hopkins physicians and mentors to our highly acclaimed group of collaborators," said John Fein, managing director of Techstars. "As with Providence and University of Kansas Medical Center, these health systems will provide our innovative companies valuable opportunities for potential pilots and clinical validation, and access to some of the top experts in healthcare."
