HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell has named Jocelyn Samuels the director of HHS' Office for Civil Rights, according to a Health IT Security report.
Ms. Samuels is taking over duties for Leon Rodriguez, who was confirmed as director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Currently, Ms. Samuels is an acting assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. She previously served as vice president for education and employment at the National Women's Law Center.
