The IT sector added approximately 9,600 jobs in July, according to a CompTIA analysis.
The "CompTIA IT Employment Tracker," which CompTIA issues monthly, includes aggregated IT-specific job data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as noted by the agency's employment situation summary.
Here are three things to know about IT job growth in July.
1. IT and software services positions dominated the sector last month, creating nearly 4,900 additional positions.
2. So far this year, the IT sector added roughly 72,100 positions.
3. About 44 percent of positions in the IT sector are IT occupations — as opposed to IT sector sales, marketing, finance, human resources or research and development positions.
