A survey conducted by Opera Mediaworks, a mobile advertising platform, found iPhone and Android users use their smartphones differently, generally accessing different types of apps.
Android users more often used fitness apps than health apps, at 39 percent and 30 percent respectively, while iPhone users tended to use both types freuqently, with 58 percent using fitness apps and 61 percent using health apps.
The report also discussed how often users used their smartphones (regardless of operating system) to learn about exercise, health and wellness topics. According to the survey, 48 percent of respondents indicated never using their devices to learn about wellness topics, while 22 percent said they used them more than once a week.
