Intermountain joins Cerner's bid to replace the DoD's EHR

Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare is now part of the Cerner, Accenture Federal Services and Leidos bid on the Department of Defense's $11 billion, 10-year Healthcare Management System Modernization contract.

Under the strategic agreement, Intermountain will provide clinical governance and expertise to Cerner during the design and implementation process.

"No one in health IT is more qualified than Cerner to deliver tools that are at once cutting-edge, intuitive and user-friendly for patients and medical staff to securely share EHR data and ensure optimal patient care," said Stan Huff, Intermountain CMIO. "Intermountain is honored to share our deep knowledge of clinical systems architecture and workflow with Cerner as we jointly work toward the Leidos Partnership's delivery of this critical update to our military's healthcare management system."

In October, Intermountain announced a strategic partnership with Cerner to implement Cerner's EHR and revenue cycle management software across all of Intermountain's 22 hospitals and 185 clinics. The implementation is currently underway.
