Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare will integrate machine learning into its medical imaging analysis, thanks to a collaboration with Zebra Medical Vision.
Intermountain will deliver imaging data to Zebra Medical Vision's Analytics Engine, which analyzes factors associated with cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic and bone health. Using these insights, Intermountain will be able to identify patients at risk for these chronic diseases, to facilitate early intervention.
"We believe imaging analytics will change how we practice radiology over the next decade," said Keith White, MD, medical director of imaging services at Intermountain. "Our physicians will be more productive and be enabled to create clinically actionable discrete data through the use of automated assistants that will help them deal with ever-increasing workloads — without compromising quality of care."
