Intel named four winning teams for its Cervical Cancer Screening Kaggle Competition, a collaboration between Intel and MobileODT.
The competition, announced in March, asked more than 1,000 data science teams to create artificial intelligence algorithms designed to identify a woman's cervix type based on images taken by MobileODT's Enhanced Visual Assessment System.
MobileODT will validate the winners' algorithms and integrate the solutions into its EVA System. The algorithms will eventually be used to help healthcare providers screen patients for cervical cancer and provide physicians with treatment decision support.
Here are the four winning teams.
1. First-place team ($50,000): Ignas Namajunas, Jonas Bialopetravičius and Darius Barušauskas from Lithuania
2. Second-place team ($20,000): Indrayana Rustandi from New York City
3. Third place team ($10,000): Gilberto Titericz Jr. from San Francisco, Russ Wolfinger from Cary, N.C., Xulei Yang from Singapore and Joseph Chui from Philadelphia
4. Intel Tools Usage prize ($20,000): Luis Andre Dutra E Silva from Brazil
