Hyland, a software company focused on enterprise content management, closed its acquisition of Allscripts' OneContent business April 2.
Under the agreement, OneContent's associates and 350 customers will transition to Hyland. OneContent, a patient medical chart management software solution, captures and indexes patient data for health IT and clinical employees.
"The addition of OneContent will further our mission of empowering healthcare providers by informing critical decision making and simplify information access and insight," Bill Priemer, president and CEO of Hyland, said in an April 2 statement.
Hyland plans to partner with Allscripts to support OneContent customers' current solutions and refine the software's integration with Allscripts' Paragon EHR system.
"This deal is a triple win for Allscripts clients and shareholders as it allows us to efficiently recirculate capital, allows us to focus on our core businesses and allows us to maintain our strong, exciting partnership with Hyland," Allscripts President Rick Poulton said in a Feb. 15 statement.
Allscripts acquired OneContent, previously known as Horizon Patient Folders, and the Paragon EHR system through its $185 million acquisition of McKesson's Enterprise Information Solutions business in October 2017.
Hyland's closing of the OneContent acquisition follows its initial announcement to do so in February. The acquisition will advance Hyland's existing suite of clinical content and image management solutions.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
