The home-based care M&A sector experienced a sluggish third quarter in 2023, marked by just 18 reported deals, according to a Nov. 7 report from investment bank Mertz Taggart.
According to the report, the hospice sector saw a mere two transactions in the third quarter, while skilled home health experienced only four, setting a new record low for both.
The report also found that there is a strong demand for small- to mid-sized home health agencies.
In the third quarter, notable home health transactions included:
- New Day Healthcare's purchase of Advantage Care Home Health
- Amber Personal Care's acquisition of Healing Hearts Home Health
- Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health's acquisition of Advent Home Health
