Health IT hiring in 2013 exceeded 2012's pace and will continue to grow, according to a new survey from HIMSS.
More than 80 percent of healthcare organizations hired at least one health IT staffer in 2013, and a similar percent plan to hire at least one full-time health IT staffer in 2014.
The hiring rates were higher than last year's survey had predicted — last year, 79 percent of survey respondents thought they would hire at least one new IT employee, and 84 percent actually did.
