HIMSS Analytics and the International Institute for Analytics have launched the first healthcare industry benchmarking system to assess providers' analytics competency and maturity relative to their peers.
The DELTA Powered Analytics Assessment uses the well-known DELTA Model framework published by IIA. The assessment is administered through an online survey to 25 or more members of the organization and measures an organization's analytic maturity across five areas:
- Breadth and depth of available data
- Approach to managing analytics on an enterprise level
- Passion and commitment of leadership
- Depth and breadth of targets
- Abilities of both professional and amateur analysts
"The DELTA Powered Analytics Assessment allows healthcare organizations to better understand their analytics capabilities and to plot a course to derive value from and advance them over time," said James Gaston, senior director of clinical and business intelligence at HIMSS Analytics, in a news release. "This allows healthcare organizations to be more competitive and drive improved patient outcomes within the new healthcare world."
