HIMSS Analytics recognized four Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health facilities for achieving Stage 6 on the EMR Adoption Model, the second-to-last stage.
The four hospitals include: 622-bed Charlotte, N.C.-based Presbyterian Medical Center, 75-bed Huntersville (N.C.) Medical Center, 137-bed Matthews (N.C.) Medical Center and 156-bed Charlotte (N.C.) Orthopedic Hospital.
The four hospitals have almost paperless EMRs and have implemented IT applications in most inpatient care settings, according to a statement. Only 16.5 of participating hospitals have reached this stage.
The facilities are on track to reach Stage 7 — the final stage — by 2016, an award only 3.4 percent of participating hospitals have attained, according to the statement.
