The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and the Health Resources and Services Administration have awarded $8.5 million to Beacon Communities to support health IT adoption, according to an HHS news release.
Eighty-five community health center programs in 15 Beacon Communities will receive the funds, which will allow the health centers to participate in healthcare improvement initiatives that have a strong IT component.
