Technology is not infallible, and an IT disaster can strike at any moment. Know how to prepare your system.
Guy Baroan, president of IT services management company Baroan Technologies in Elmwood Park, N.J.: "Don't wait until a disaster happens to know if your backup and disaster recovery plan will work. Review the backups every single day. Review the disaster recovery plan (if you have one) once a month and update it, if necessary. Test the plan no less than two times per year. Be ready and hope nothing ever happens."
