Health IT tip of the day: Good documentation improves clinical outcomes

There are only two enduring outcomes from a clinical encounter: The impact on the patient's health and the documentation of the event.

Roger Davis, President and CEO at T-System in Dallas: Patients' health is directly affected by the documentation of their clinical encounter. Good documentation improves clinical outcomes. The documentation process in and of itself can improve outcomes when clinical encounters are captured accurately and effectively.
