Health Catalyst, a provider of data analytics and decision support, acquired Medicity, a population health-focused company offering solutions for health information exchange, business intelligence and stakeholder engagement.
The transaction was announced in May. The acquisition adds 100-plus clients, including 21 state and regional HIEs and 75 health systems, to Health Catalyst's customer base.
Per the agreement, Medicity's deep clinical dataset will be combined with Health Catalyst's Data Operating System, which includes artificial intelligence-driven analytics as well as a wide range of healthcare financial, cost, patient outcomes and supply chain data. The integration will expand the Data Operating System's capabilities to include receiving and analyzing real-time data.
"The combination of Medicity with Health Catalyst represents the best of both worlds — the transactional capabilities that our customers have been asking for, along with the analytics that Medicity's customers have sought, delivered now from one company," said Health Catalyst President Brent Dover.
