A pilot program partnership between Boston-based HarvardMedicalSchool, IBM Watson, Anthem Blue Cross and GenieMD has produced Harvard Health Info, an app that enables patients to get treatment recommendations via a symptom checker and access health information through an 'Ask Watson' function, among other features.
The app is powered by GenieMD's patient engagement platform, which is built on IBM Watson's cognitive computing capabilities, according to the GenieMD website.
Harvard Health Info includes "resources to help you quickly locate urgent care centers and retail clinics closest to you or how to connect to a telemedicine visit or nurse triage line," according to the app's iTunes listing. Additionally, Harvard Health Info integrates with Apple Healthkit to sync blood pressure, heart rate, glucose level, weight, temperature and height data from users.
