Amazon's One Medical is collaborating with Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health, allowing specialists from the health system to deliver care to the primary care patients of the tech company.
Under the partnership, Hackensack Meridian Health will be One Medical's specialty referral partner in New Jersey. The two also have strategic plans to establish numerous locations in the area in the coming years, according to a Nov. 14 news release from Hackensack.
The specific locations are yet to be finalized, and the inaugural office is anticipated to commence operations by the end of 2024. One Medical and Hackensack will assess and determine optimal locations for new facilities based on patient needs.
"We are deeply committed to expanding access to high-quality care and connecting patients with the specialty services they need and this exciting partnership with One Medical will help us advance our goals,'' Robert Garrett, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health, said in the release. "This innovative approach to healthcare continues our journey to create the health system for the future."
One Medical, which Amazon bought in February for $3.9 billion, has similar arrangements with health systems in nearly 20 of its other markets.
