Google and Paris-based pharmaceutical company Sanofi are developing an Innovation Lab that will combine Google's artificial intelligence, data analytics and cloud computing technologies with Sanofi's scientific innovations to advance drug discovery and precision treatments.
The collaboration is focused on three goals: deepening knowledge of patients and diseases, increasing Sanofi's operational efficiency and improving the experience of the company's patients and customers.
In pursuit of those goals, the Innovation Lab will use deep analytics to analyze Sanofi's real-world datasets to improve understanding of diseases and identify key patient insights. That analysis will then be used to develop potential treatments and new technology to promote better outcomes.
Additionally, Sanofi will utilize Google's AI for sales forecasting and to inform marketing and supply chain efforts, and will move some of its business applications to the Google Cloud Platform.
