Google-backed UK 'robot doctor' startup nets largest series A funding in Europe's history at $25M

Babylon, a U.K.-based digital healthcare startup, has set the bar with a $25M series A funding round, the largest on record in Europe's history.

Investors in the round include the founders of Google's artificial intelligence arm, DeepMind. Babylon's app first launched in Feb. 2015 and links users to an AI physician that uses symptom information, health data, physiological metrics, habits and medical records to predict illness and make preventive recommendations.

The Babylon app also enables users to schedule appointments, schedule prescription deliveries and have telemedicine visits with physicians. Notable business such as Citigroup and MasterCard have partnered with Babylon to offer its services to employees, and a partnership with Britain's National Health Service is also in trial phase, according to The Telegraph
