Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego has updated its cybersecurity safeguards after a data breach in June compromised the protected health information of more than 20,000 patients, according to a Times of San Diego report.
Hospital employees underwent additional training regarding protecting patient health information. The hospital also implemented a program that scans emails for private data and prevents emails from leaving hospital computers if any protected health information is detected, according to the report.
