Five Colorado healthcare organizations have signed agreements to share patient data through the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization's Health Information Exchange, according to a CORHIO news release.
The organizations include Alpine Urology, Boulder Community Hospital, Gastroenterology of the Rockies, Longmont United Hospital and Spruce Street Internal Medicine, all located in Boulder County.
The HIE will allow healthcare providers across Colorado's Front Range and Eastern Plains to more quickly and easily exchange patient data. HIE uses a secure process to electronically exchange data, including lab test and pathology results, x-ray, MRI and other imaging report, through electronic health record systems. Later this summer, CORHIO's network will be upgraded to include patient medication lists, allergies and immunizations.
