Fitbit added a health tracking feature for women that allows users to track various aspects of their menstrual cycles to better understand their health, according to Yahoo Finance.
Women will be able to input data on their periods and record various symptoms including headaches, cramps and acne onto the Fitbit app. Over time, Fitbit's algorithm will help women more accurately predict when to expect their next period.
According to the fitness tracking company, the feature is more than just a period-tracking app — it will allow women to learn how their periods impact various aspects of their lives and will help women understand when they are most fertile.
"This is something that we've heard many, many of our users request given our brand's strength with women," said Fitbit CEO James Park, according to Yahoo Finance. "The way we feel about female health tracking and its impact on people's overall health and fitness for women is that this is really the next big thing for us."
